Thursday thru Saturday, Cucalorus steps into the future of entertainment with its first-ever Virtual Reality Lounge with the most mind-bending works in a rapidly emerging field.
On Saturday, a PlaceMakers Fair will showcase regional makers and their inventions with exhibits, demonstrations, entertainment, food and a tall bike jousting showdown. Events are family friendly and follow the Saturday AM Kidsalorus screening of the heralded animated film Khalil Gibran's The Prophet an official selection at Cannes.
Visual/Sound/Walls is a multi-sensory exhibition of 37 music videos; “Bus to Lumberton” is an interactive production curated by Michael Arcos, and inspired by David Lynch’s landmark film Blue Velvet; and the Emcee Showcase, presents the talent that has long distinguished Cucalorus from other film festivals with performance artists including vocalists, dancers, spoken word performers, and comedians.
And the 10x10 Filmmaker Challenge pairs ten entrepreneurs and ten filmmakers to produce a short film over the five days of the festival, screening the results at the Connect Closing Party on Sunday afternoon.
How to Attend
Passes are now on sale for Cucalorus Film Festival and CONNECT Conference. CONNECT shares dates and footprint with the Cucalorus Film Festival. Connect events are individually ticketed like regular festival screenings and events. Pegasorus passholders are granted access to all festival and conference events, no ticket required. CONNECT passholders are granted access to all Connect events, all social events and five festival screenings.
