It's the perfect time to celebrate female filmmakers! Even though they remain drastically under-represented in the industry, talented and diverse women are rising above the gender gap to create successful films. We will discuss equity as a key to success. What are some of the main obstacles and ways to overcome them? Who are the leaders in this social movement? Is balance even possible? Join these successful female directors to find out how they got their films made, the role of collaboration in their work, and how collectives like Film Fatales are helping to close the diversity gap in film. Reception hosted by Wilmington Female Filmmakers to follow!

Panelists include: Brittany Fennell (Q.U.E.E.N.), Ingrid Veninger (He Hated Pigeons), Josephine Decker (Collective Unconscious), Marquette Jones (Forgiving Chris Brown)

Moderated by Film Fatales North Carolina chapter leader Leslie Cunningham (Jig Show)

The Wilmington Female Filmmakers Collective hosts a CONNECT Social Hour to celebrate female filmmakers at Cucalorus. Co-hosted by Film Fatales, immediately following this panel at Ironclad Brewery.
